Welcome to the web site of the Township of Franklin School District, a premier pre K – 6 school district located in beautiful Gloucester County, New Jersey. This school year promises to be full of exciting learning opportunities for our students with the addition of 37 interactive Smart Boards, upgraded computers in every classroom, and new language arts textbooks. Our facilities have been improved with a new internet-based telephone system and air-conditioning for all of the classrooms in the district. Currently, parents have on-line access to their children’s grades, lunch choices, and teacher web pages. This year, we are hoping to expand community input through the addition of e-newsletters and an Increasing Community Awareness Team (ICAT), which will solicit input from the community regarding district operations and promote positive events within the school district. Teachers and staff members from the Township of Franklin School District will be engaged in professional development with their counterparts from the Delsea Regional and Elk School Districts in research – proven educational concepts, such as those based on Understanding by Design and Classroom Instruction that Works. One of the co-authors of Classroom Instruction that Works will work with the staff from the three

districts during the November teacher in-service days. I encourage you to become familiar with the district web site, as it contains important announcements and valuable resources for parents, teachers, and the community.
