Wow! The end of the year is here and there are only a few days left of second grade! I can't believe how quickly this year flew by. Our last few days will be busy with special treats, crafts, games, and lots of other exciting activities as we get ready for our summer vacation.

I would like to thank all the parents and students for the cards and gifts you gave me on Teacher Appreciation Day. You made me feel very special. Words cannot express my sincerest gratitude for your kindness and thoughtfulness. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

In celebration of our last full week of school, the second grade will be having a "School Spirit Week." Each day will be centered on a special theme. Your child will be bringing home paperwork with more details. Don't forget to dress up for each day! Special prizes will be given for the students with the most "School Spirit!"

The students will also participate in "Fun Day" on June 22nd. The PTA has exciting activities planned for the day.

This year has been a very successful year. The children have worked exceptionally hard and continue to impress me each and every day with the progress they are making. Thank you for the opportunity in sharing in your child's education. It has truly been a pleasure working with you and your wonderful children this year. It is going to be hard to say good-bye to such a terrific class.

As summer approaches, please remember to continue to keep your child's skills sharp as they prepare for third grade. Continue to study basic math facts and have them read, read, read! The library is a great place to visit during the summer to keep your child reading books of his or her interest. The children have grown so much from the beginning of the year and it is important that they keep working hard throughout the summer.

Best of luck to all my students as they enter third grade! Don't forget to come back and visit!
