Happy New Years! I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable break. The start of a new year is going to bring many exciting things to our classroom.
In Reading, we will continue to work on our third book of stories. We will also be working on long vowel sound patterns. The children will also be writing about winter weather and animals this month. In Math we will coninute to work on addition and subtraction facts to 20. Please practice math facts with your child at home. The more practice they have, the easier it will become to learn their facts. January will bring many exciting activities for this month. We will be making our New Year's resolutions and will be learning about polar animalss. We will also be learning about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his messages of peace and respect for one another. The “Star of the Week” program in our class is in full swing! We have seen many amazing posters and have completed many fun crafts. When it is your child’s week to be our class “Star”, I will send home a paper with information about what will be happening this week. As always, please feel free to contact me by phone or email if you have any questions or concerns. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season! Thank you for your support and all that you do!
