Welcome New Year 2012! |
Our Janvier students ended 2011 learning the importance of handwashing and the proper steps in performing this valid line of defense in prevention of spreading germs. |
Few common illnesses that may be spread due to close contact are the common cold, the flu, conjunctivitis(pink eye), strep throat, and bronchitis. |
Some ways of preventing illnesses are handwashing, covering your sneezes and coughs, staying home when you have a fever, staying home with nausea/vomit, and staying home with a known illness. Your child should be free of these signs and symptoms for 24 hours before returning to school. Your doctor may provide excused notes. |
Just a reminder, please provide a change of clothes(particularly undergarments and pants) for your child to be kept in their individual school bag in event of a bathroom accident, juice, milk or water spill, or playground fall into mud or dirt. By changing into their own clothes, the student's appear less traumatized because they are changing into familiar clothes, and less time is spent away from instruction time. |
Don't forget to label your child's bookbag, lunchbox, coats and jackets, etc. Items placed in "lost and found" can be returned promptly with proper identification. |
