Mrs. Fisch's Kindergarten

February is a very active month. We will be busy learning about Groundhog's Day, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Famous African American Inventors and Authors. We will be celebrating Black History Month, 100th Day of School and Valentine's Day.(We will be exchanging cards on Valentine's Day without a party.)
In Language Arts/Reading, we will concentrate on letters: O,o,H,h and L,l. Our "popcorn words" are: I,am, the, little, to, a, have, is, we, my,like,he,for,me,with,she,look, see,of, they, you, are,that,do, one, two, three, four, and five.Decoding words is a major skill in kindergarten. Please continue to practice blending sounds to read words.
In math, we will work on measurement and start addition.
In handwriting, we will continue to work on correct letter and number formation, spacing of words, and writing sentences.

Your child will need these items on a daily basis: 1 large back pack,1 folder, lunch or lunch money, and 1 small snack.
Please remember to label all your child's jackets,back packs,sweaters....
All notes, letters, returned work, lunch money... should be placed in his/her folder.

Please empty your child's folder each day and review the work daily.
