Reading Recovery

Good readers know that their reading must do three things:
1. Make sense
2.Sound right
3.Look right

The same thing applies to writing. Encourage your child to go back and check their writing. Ask them, " Does it make sense?"
"Does it sound right?" "Do all of your words look right?" Have your child circle all the words that don't look right to them. Then have them try the word again. If they are still having difficulty, help them with the word.

Reading and writing stategies go hand in hand. Encourage good writing strategies from your child.
