Dear Parents and Students,
Here it is March already. Time flies while you’re having fun! We have been working very hard in class and the children are doing so well. I would like to thank all of the parents that were involved in our Valentine’s Day party. The children really enjoyed our brunch. It was a lot of fun.
In Reading, we will have started Unit Four- Our Changing World. Some of the topics we will be covering are comparing and contrasting, fact and opinion, drawing conclusions, homonyms, antonyms, suffixes, and multiple meaning words. In grammar, we will be learning more about adjectives. Please remember to review papers that are sent home with your child daily.
In Math, we will be starting our chapter on “Time.” The goals of this chapter are to promote mastery of time and using instruments to tell time, build conceptual understanding of time, and develop and apply problem solving skills. If you have a clock at home to practice with please do so as much as possible. Please continue to go over math homework each night with your child and also continue to review addition and subtraction facts. The more the students practice their facts, the easier it will be!
We are continuing our Star Student of the Week program. The children enjoy learning about other students in the class and having a family member visit them. Thank you to everyone who has visited so far. We appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to be with us! I often hear the students talking about previous visits from family members. They really enjoy getting to know one another better.
