We’ll join together as the new year begins,
A year full of learning as we become friends,
We’ll share and be kind as we work and play,
And our friendships will grow with each passing day.Welcome Back Students and Parents! I am so happy to be starting another new school year with you! I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing summer vacation. I can’t wait to hear about all of the wonderful things each student did. It went by fast, but we do have a lot of exciting things to look forward to this school year.
In our first week of school, we will be doing a lot of reviewing and “getting to know you” activities. It is important for the students to become familiar with the classroom procedures, routines, and of course, each other. It is my goal to make each child feel comfortable in the classroom and eager to return each day.
All of the supplies your child will need are already waiting for them on their desks. They have a pencil box filled with pencils, glue, crayons, scissors, and erasers. They will also be given a homework folder which needs to be brought back and forth between home and school each day. If you have already purchased supplies you are welcome to send them in with your child or hold on to them until later in the year when they may need them.
This year each child will have an assignment book which will be taken home daily and will contain any homework assignments or reminders for that day. I encourage each student to keep their assignment book and homework folder together. You may also use this book as a way of communicating with me. I will be checking them daily, so feel free to write any notes or comments in them. On occasion, you may also see comments from me.
Our lunch is scheduled for 12:50. Your child may either bring a lunch to school or purchase one from the cafeteria. Due to our late lunch, you will be welcome to send in a small snack for your child. Common snack ideas include pretzels, fruit, cheese, crackers, cereal bar, etc. Students are also allowed to have a water bottle at their desks, but please do not send in juice or other drinks.
During the first week of school you will receive many important papers and notices that need to be returned. Please fill them out and return them to school as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time.
You may send in a note, e-mail me, or call the school. I will get back to you as soon as possible.I look forward to the beginning of a wonderful year!
