Dear Parents, My focus during a reading lesson is always reading for meaning.If a child reads something that doesn't make sense,often he or she will go back and try again. If that doesn't happen I often stop them and ask,"Does that make sense?"The important part is to allow the child to go back and try again to self-correct the error first on their own.This will help to promote a confident and independent reader.
