Welcome! I am glad that you are here. I wish you all health, happiness and success in 2009. It is a new year filled with possibilities.
Please be aware the the second marking period will be concluded at the end of the month.
Here's what is happening:
8:05 Language Arts- We are continuing with our writing skills. Soon we are currently working on persuasive writing. Students are also enjoying "Where the Red Fern Grows." We will be doing many activities with this classic novel.
Also, as promised we are beginning our official practice for the New Jersey Ask Assessment.
10:35 Language Arts Class: We are working on our writing skills. We are currently working on persuasive writing. We are well into our literature Circles with the novel The Secret Garden. Students have been making fine progress with their critical thinking skills.

Homeroom: In Social Studies we are continuting our studies of our country's journey through time. Currently, we are wrapping up our lessons regarding the Indian Removal Act. We are currently discussing how the Industrial Revolution has changed the United States of America.
In Science we are studying the theory of natural selection and selective breeding. Students are learning how an organism's survival depends upon how well it is adapted to its environment.
That covers all of the major things that are going on. Our class will also celebrate our victory in the canned goods drive for Thanksgiving. Mrs. Clevenger-Bell is rewarding the class with a pizza party. I would like to thank all of you for allowing your children to donate to this drive. Our efforts have helped members of our community who are less fortunate.Please remember that we are partners in your child's education.
