HAPPY JANUARY!!!!

We are in our FIFTH month of school. Happy New Year! I want to once again welcome everyone to my webpage. I look forward to working with your children and with you daily. I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season. May this New Year be filled with many surprises and good health. Third Grade Math Happenings:
We will be completing Chapter 4 which deals with using calendars, comparing tallies & line plots, exploring, reading and making pictographs and bar graphs. They will also use ordered pairs to identify and locate points on a grid. Chapter 5 deals with the long anticipated multiplication. Whenever you have a few minutes, please continue to review addition and subtraction facts.

Third Grade Language Arts Happenings:
In Reading, the skills that we will be working with are: context clues, main idea, using diagrams, summarizing, identifying/making inferences, and multiple meaning words.

In Grammar, we will be working on sentence combining with verbs, and verb tenses. We continue to work on improving our writing skills.

In Spelling, we will be working with words with double consonants, /ou/,/oi/ words, words ending with /ed/ &/ing/ and Words from Science.

Fourth Grade Spelling Happenings:
In Spelling, we will be working with words with /u/ and /yu/, words with digraphs, words ending in /ed/ & /ing/ and Words from Art.

Just A Few Reminders:
~ There is Spelling homework EVERY night, (except Fridays).
~ The Spelling test will be on Friday.
~ Please look at the assignment book nightly and remember to initial it after the homework has been completed.
