Welcome to the Art Studio!

Special "Thank YOU!" to everyone for making this year's Art Fair a great success. Thanks to the PTA for sponsoring our free ice cream social and also thanks to all of my parent volunteers for helping with set up and clean up. You're all the best. I couldn't have done it without you. It was a great night to come out and celebrate the creativity of our art students here at Main Road School. The students really enjoyed seeing their artwork and loved receiving compliments about it.

Some creative things to do over the summer:
- Go to an Art Gallery or Museum. My favorite is the Philadelphia Museum of ART. Did you know its free on Sundays? Go and be inspired :)
- Create art on the beach by making sand sculptures. How much fun is that, just don't forget to add water...lol?
- Keep a sketchbook and draw pictures that describe your summer vacation.
- Make a scrapbook...ok, i admit it I'm an addicted scrapbooker! Its so much fun to design pages with different photos, while using patterns, colors, and other textures to make my creativity come alive.
- Go outside and draw with sidewalk chalk or paint on concrete with plain water and a brush. Watch how the sun dries it and how it disappears right before your eyes.
- Go to the library and research your favorite art style or artist. It might inspire you to create your own masterpiece.
