A MESSAGE FROM MRS. NERI

We are now well into the third marking period. Routines have been established and the children are busy working towards their goals.

FIFTH GRADE LANGUAGE ARTS
The fifth grade Language Arts students are working in Unit Three of the Scotts Foresman Reading series this month. Students will participate in whole group and small group lessons. They will continue developing four square writing strategies that were introduced last year and reinforced during the first marking period.

SIXTH GRADE LANGUAGE ARTS
The sixth grade students are working in Unit Three of the Scotts Foresman Reading series this month. They will be identifying cause and effect, author's purpose and point of view, and steps in a process in order to better understand what they read. The students will also complete weekly writing projects using the four-square strategy with "spice" added!

SIXTH GRADE MATH STUDENTS
The sixth grade math students will continue to work in the Connected Math Program this second marking period. It is a program that will continue for them when they move up to Delsea. They have completed "Primetime" and "Bits and Pieces I & II". They are now working in "Covering and Surrounding". We've joined with Ms. Underwood's group, and we are really excited to work with them.
