Mrs. Firman's 5th Grade

JANUARY! Happy New Year to all and welcome to a new and exciting 2009! With the holidays behind us, the new year offers us a chance for a fresh start.

Parents, please make every effort this year to spend more time with your children. Along with spending time, please encourage them to do well in school, and to come to school each day with a positive attitude.

During the month of January we will continue to be very involved with our lessons, but will also be busy preparing for our D.A.R.E. graduation which will be held in the beginning of February.

To my students, as we continue our school year I want you to remember these words. "Success comes to those who put forth the effort to succeed." If you try your best each day, I promise, you will succeed.

This year you have met many new challenges including changing classes. I'm sure by now, you have realized how important it is to be prepared when changing classes. The most important thing you must continue to learn, is to be organized. Write down all assignments, complete all homework, and study for all tests. If you take this advice and try your best, you will have a wonderful year in 5th grade.
