HAPPY NEW YEAR!
What a fantastic school year this has been so far. Our class is very cooperative, kind and helpful toward one another and because of this, we are having a GREAT year. Keep up the good work! Remember our class motto: "Success comes to those who put forth the effort to succeed," so please continue to work hard every day.
Following you will find our current areas of study. Parents, please review your child's assignment book with them every night. Checking it will keep you aware of what your child is learning in school each day,and will make you aware of any upcoming tests and quizzes that they need to prepare for.MATH
In Math we will be working in Topic 6, where we will learn about algebra, variables and expressions.
READING
We are once again returning to our Reading anthology and will be reading one of our stories each week. We will also return to our regular Spelling and Grammar lessons with all testing scheduled for Fridays unless otherwise noted.SOCIAL STUDIES
We will be studying from Chapter 5, "The Struggle to Found Colonies." Students will learn about the formation of our origional 13 colonies.
SCIENCE
A new area of study will also be covered in Science. We are beginning Unit B, Physical Science, Chapter B-1 "Classifying Matter." We will be studying Elements and Compounds, the Periodic Table, Mixtures and Solutions, Atoms and many other interesting topics.
HEALTH
We are continuing our modified DARE program and will have lessons with our township officers on various topics related to drugs and our general well being as a student at Reutter School and in life as we grow up.
