Winter Fun In Sixth Grade Science Class

Winter Fun In Sixth Grade Science Class

By: Alexandra King, 6th Grade Student

In Ms. Miller’s science class this week, we did really cool experiments while working through the Scientific Method. Out of pipe cleaners, we made snowflakes and crystallized them. We did this by mixing water and Borax, a laundry detergent like substance, together. After that we made what we all want for Christmas… snow! We found the correct proportion for shaving cream to baking soda, and the amount of baking soda was always more than the amount of shaving cream. After finding the right consistency, we had a snowman building contest. We used pipe cleaners and beads to decorate it. The three classes had lots of fun with the experiments provided by one of the best science teachers, Ms. Miller.
