January Calendar
Township of Franklin Public Schools Families, This is to inform our school community that the Main Road School has been evacuated to the Reutter School due to a nearby fire on Route 40. All students and staff in our district are safe. Reutter School and Janvier School are currently operating a normal schedule. The Main Road School students will remain at Reutter School for the remainder of the school day. Due to road closures, all students who live on Route 40 between Main Road and Tuckahoe Road as well as North Bluebell Road between Tuckahoe Road and Weymouth Road will not have access to busing this afternoon. For the students impacted by road closures, a parent/guardian will need to pick up Reutter School and Main Road School students at the Reutter School Main Office. While Janvier School is not directly impacted by the situation, those students who are affected by the road closure and attend the Mary F. Javier School will be picked up at the Mary F. Janvier School Main Office. All other students who are not impacted by the road closures will take their scheduled bus home at their normal dismissal time. Please understand that there might be transportation delays due to the situation going on in town. We are working closely with The Franklin Township Police Department and the Office of Emergency Management. As this is an active situation we will send follow-up communication as necessary. Thank you, Mr. Theodore Peters District School Safety Specialist

In Reutter's 5th Grade Art classes, artists investigated the history behind rubber ducks, learning that their original use was to get children to take baths. The first patent was filed by Peter Ganine in 1947 and continues to be a collection item today. Artists were asked to design their rubber ducky out of clay, learning about clay techniques, color mixing, and how to manipulate clay tools.
