Book Fair Literacy Night is a Big Success!
Mary F. Janvier Elementary School's Book Fair Literacy Night was a big success as our Jackrabbits and their parents/guardians shopped for books, listened to guest readers, and interacted with special guests, Brother Bear and Sister Bear. Thank you to all who supported our school's Book Fair!

Reutter School Sixth Graders Dive into Density with a Sweet Science Experiment

Sixth-grade science students at Reutter School explored the concept of density in their weather unit through a delicious hands-on investigation. Instead of just learning about air and water, the students used popular chocolate candies like Kit-Kats, Rolos, and Hershey's Kisses to discover the relationship between mass and volume. This creative lesson allowed them to see how varying densities affect interactions and movement, providing a tangible way to understand a recurring scientific theme. By connecting a fun, everyday treat to a core concept, the students gained a deeper and more memorable understanding of density.

October Calendar
Sixth-grade science students in Mrs. Zemaitatis, Ms. Davis, and Ms. Reim's classes participated in a collaborative activity to learn about the water cycle. Working in teams, students completed "Water Cycle Input Stations" to explore different concepts and build foundational knowledge. This hands-on, inquiry-based approach allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the water cycle before receiving formal instruction on the topic.

Fifth Grade Artists Explore Observational Drawing

Fifth grade art students at Reutter School are learning about the fundamentals of observational drawing in Miss Heritage's Art classes. By using still-life objects, students are learning to translate what they see in three dimensions onto a two-dimensional surface.

Pictured are students carefully observing the unique shapes, textures, and shadows of the pumpkins to accurately capture their forms. This exercise helps students sharpen their attention to detail, understand perspective, and improve their hand-eye coordination. It's an exciting and hands-on way for our young artists to develop their skills and appreciate the world around them through a creative lens.
